What does head lice look like

What does head lice look like? Well the above picture shows what does head lice look like. The head louse lays eggs in your hairs and it is called as Nits. These eggs are oval shaped and remain attached to the side of hair shaft at an angle. Catching Nits is difficult and live head lice lay them.

The nits are hatched in 7-8 days and it becomes adult female again ready to lay egg in another 7-8 day. When hatched they are very clear in color but slowly turns reddish as they grow. These head lice could only crawl. They feed on human blood to survive. Their life span is nearly 30 days and in this time, they could lay up to 100 eggs. So head lice more lice and even more lice if proper precautions is not taken.
