Women and balding is not thought to be a common issue but as per the figures 40% of women by age of 60 experience some form of hair loss. Female hair loss and male hair loss are similar, and numerous solutions for both is available in the market.
Women balding could be 10 times more painful then men. It is due to social factors attached to female hair loss. Large number of women hair loss could be cured the their men counterpart. Female hair loss primarily occurs due the hormonal imbalance. It could be anything like overactive thyroid, or due to after effect of pregnancy or menopause. Hair loss in women is noticed after 3 months of delivery. It is primarily due to the fact that during pregnancy, there is high level of some hormones, which acts on body to retain hairs, which would normally fall out. After the pregnancy, the level of these hormones reduces which cause the hair loss. After this normal hair gain and loss, cycle starts as normal.
Even some medicines with prolonged use could cause female hair loss. Once these medicines are stopped, the situation improves. These medicines could be anticoagulants or blood thinners, medicines for gout, birth control pills, antidepressants, and excess use of Vitamin A.
Female hair loss could also occur due to some diseases like lupus or diabetes.
