Skin Disease and baldness hair loss
01.25.05 (10:24 am)   [edit]
Alopecia areata is the culprit skin disease due to which millions of people in US alone are losing their hairs. This is due to the unpredictable autoimmune skin disease which is the cause of baldness hair loss. Hair follicles that is affected by this disease are attacked by the immune system of the person. In the beginning alopecia areata causes baldness hair loss in small patches which leads to a complete baldness.

The people affected with this disease lose hairs but it re grows and falls again. The disease is very unpredictable and there is no way that it could be predicted that when the hair will re grow or when the hair will fall out again.

Till now there is no hair loss medication for this skin disease.

I was 15 when diagnosed with alopecia areata, no one knew the cause and there was no cure. That was 42 years ago and still no hope in site. Can you imagine what this disease does to young women? My life has been one of very low self-esteem and fear of intimacy due to wearing wigs (especially since I have a very petite size head and it is difficult to find them to fit). What little hair comes in is just enough to irritate me, I try to keep it shaved to keep the oil at bay but it does not stop the breakouts and itching. I'm use to the wigs but it would be nice to stop the irritation; I've tried over the counter, prescription and home remedies, all to no avail.

Have you tried using apple cider vinegar to stop itching? In your case, you should rub it on your shaved scalp and leave it be for 30 mins or more (if you so wish) and wash it off with bath lotion. I think that might help reduce the irritation and itching.
